TRIBUTE to ASTOR PIAZZOLLA @Atelier SOL

Astor Piazzolla revolutionized tango and opened it up to new sound worlds. His Tango Nuevo combines the passion and expressiveness of traditional tango with elements from jazz and classical music – characteristic rhythms, memorable melodies, a master of repetition as well as of the interplay between simplicity and complexity. In this concert, Cristian Axt (piano) and Helmut Höllriegl (voice) devote themselves to the work of this tango icon. Guest performers are Lena Krzanowska (violin), Elisabeth Wimmer (soprano) and Nico Kaiser (bandoneon). Alongside well-known pieces such as Oblivion, Vuelvo al Sur, Balada para un loco and Adiós Nonino, lesser-known works from Piazzolla's musical cosmos will also be heard. As is customary, the texts will be recited in German translation in order to open up to the audience the no less distinctive poetry of Horacio Ferrer. We are very pleased that Victoria & Martín Acosta will dance to several pieces during the concert, adding yet another dimension to the experience. A concert for all who love Piazzolla's music – and for those who wish to discover it anew. 29 October 2026 · 19:30–20:30, doors open at 19:00 followed by Milonga 20:45-23:45 Atelier SOL, Maria-Lassnig-Str 33 Admission 25 Euro (incl.
