Pratica di Tango — New Dance Academy

Thursday, October 29, we inaugurate the Pratica di Tango at New Dance Academy! Since I arrived here, I began to realize that a space was missing that was neither a milonga nor a lesson. Often it is difficult to find the time and place to put into practice what we have already learned, to make the movement our own. And if, on top of that, we don't have a partner to dance with, everything becomes even more complicated. When, in Buenos Aires, I was taking my first steps in tango, I had the good fortune to attend Studio Dinzel. Rodolfo and Gloria Dinzel were dancers of the legendary company Tango Argentino, the first tango company to take this dance on tour around the world. Rodolfo and Gloria created a practice space dedicated to both amateur and professional dancers, where everyone met to study, experiment with steps, change partners to discover how the movement worked with different people, and ask for help with what they couldn't understand. This place did not follow the rules of the milonga, because it was a space of research, dedicated to those who truly wished to question themselves, deepen their own dance, review what they knew and share their experience with others. Learning to listen to the other person, to perceive what they feel, so that we can give our best and not simply what we believe we are doing. This is the proposal I bring to you. To those who will want my help, I will be available to accompany and support them, as far as I can. Every Thursday at New Dance Academy From 9:15 PM to 11:15 PM I look forward to seeing you to share a space for practice, research and growth in tango!
