A SAINT MILONGUERO IN LYON From 23 to 31 October 2026 During the All Saints' holiday Workshops & prácticas at BB Club For All Saints' Day, we are welcoming a rather special saint: Hernán Álvarez Prieto, a very dear friend and a passionate lover of traditional tango. Hernán grew up in tango, from childhood, in the traditional clubs of Buenos Aires neighborhoods. He knows its dance, music, characters and stories in depth. He carries within him a living culture, nourished by encounters, dances and countless anecdotes that he shares with humor and generosity. He has something of a young elder: the memory and depth of those who have lived tango a great deal, with a mischievousness that often makes us laugh. We invite him out of friendship, but also because we care about this transmission. Studying with Hernán means encountering a popular, rich and living tango; refining one's listening, one's dance and one's way of sharing the milonga, in contact with someone for whom tango has always been part of life. This week in Lyon is a rare opportunity to take the time to learn with him, to ask him questions, to listen to his stories and, of course, to dance tango, milonga and waltz. For those who love traditional tango or wish to discover it more closely, it is an event not to be missed. He performs notably alongside Natalia Hills and Claudia Codega, as well as other partners. His tours regularly take him around the world, notably in Asia and Japan. Also a musicalizador and member of MuTaBA, he keeps tango alive both on the dance floor and behind the decks. Come share with us this tango that we love, and meet a friend who has so much to pass on.
